ISLAMABAD: The Panama Leaks hearing resumed on Thursday headed by a five-member bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
According to media reports, counsel for Hussain and Hassan Nawaz, Salman Akram Raja put forth his arguments. He submitted service records for Minerwa Company in the apex court.
Raja said that a representative for Hussain Nawaz, Faisal Tawana, made an agreement with Arrina company. The counsel also produced in the court transactions conducted by the Minerwa Company which included receipts of the Barclays Bank.
The counsel added that Maryam Nawaz had remained trustee shareholder after she kept in her possession bearer certificates with her from the year February till July 2006. Registered shares were issued for the firm in July 2016. After the bearer certificates were suspended, Maryam Nawaz’s trustee status became invalid, he concluded.
Justice Azmat Saeed inquired about the directors for Nielson and Nescoll.
According to media reports, the SC also summoned National Accountability Bureau and Federal Bureau of Revenue chiefs to the court on February 21. The hearing for the case was adjourned till Tuesday. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that the hearing would be held thrice a week as it was not possible to conduct a daily hearing owing to ill health of one of the judges.
Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan are reportedly present in the courtroom.
