RAWALPINDI: Security concerns have led to the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner (DC) imposing a ban on the holding of ceremonies and functions in and outside private and public schools and colleges in the city.
The functions have been banned in pursuance of the orders of the Punjab chief minister.
A notification has also been issued to all schools and colleges, directing them to implement this order immediately in letter and spirit.
Through the notification Rawalpindi DC Talat Mehmood Gondal directed the heads of schools to ensure fool proof security arrangements in their respective educational institutions in the wake of the recent wave of terrorism in the country.
The managements of the various The Rawalpindi Private Schools and Colleges Management Association has welcomed the directives.
