UNITED KINGDOM: 2016 marks as the hottest year of history as the temperature all over the world hit as high as 54 degree Celsius.
UK Met office, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a data report that states that the temperature has elevated 1.1 Celsius, moving closer to 1.5C which was set as the limit during a Paris climate change agreement held in 2015.
According to sources, human activities are to be blamed for the rising temperature.
The data report shows that the temperature reached 54C in Mitribah, Kuwait, 51C in Phalodi, India and Thailand’s Mae Hong Son city hit a temperature of 44.6C.
There was a massive increase in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere.
NOAA reports informed that the annual global temperature record has been broken five times in the 21st century – 2001, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Various calamities such as coastal flooding, droughts and severe downpours had resulted due to rise in temperature. Global warming leads to water shortages and irregular weather conditions in rural and urban areas.
US British research has also verified that the broadcasted pause in global warming between 1998 and 2014 was inaccurate.
