HYDERABAD: The speakers at an awareness seminar titled ‘Introduction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its benefits to Sindh’ said that completion of mega projects under the CPEC would open new vistas of rapid progress and prosperity in Sindh.
Under the CPEC, the Sindh government would be able to complete mega projects like Thar-Coal Power, Karachi to Hyderabad Motorway (M-9), Matiari-Lahore Power Transmission Line, Windmill Power Keti Bandar, Karachi Circular Railway and up-gradation of main railway lines, they said.
The awareness seminar, organised here at Shah Latif Government College for Girls, Latifabad, was the first of the series of seminars arranged by the Directorate of Colleges Hyderabad at different colleges of the district during current week.
Around six hundred students of the college attended the seminar where the teachers Prof Asma Aftab and Prof Naseer with students Shagufta Naz, Sawera Sabahat and Kinza Aisha highlighted the key components of the CPEC.
They termed the CPEC as a game changer in the region and said that the mega development projects would not only strengthen the infrastructure of the country, but also help overcoming the issue of unemployment by creating scoreless job opportunities for youth, which ultimately improve the socio-economic condition of the people.
The Additional Director Colleges Shahida Abro, who was the chief guest of the seminar, appreciated the college management particularly the teachers and students who highlighted the benefits of CPEC for Sindh and said that these awareness seminars would also be organised at Muslim Science College Hyderabad on January 17, Zubeda Girls College Hyderabad on January 18 and at Government College Kali Mori on January 19 so that the future builders of the nation could be aware of the benefits CPEC holds.
