NAROWAL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday urged his political opponents not to tell lies on a daily basis.
While asking the opposing parties not to hinder the country’s economic development, the PM said, “Some politicians are telling lies on daily basis. They hurl dirty accusations, which have no basis and truth. This nation is progressing; don’t hinder the way of this development.”
Speaking at the PM’s National Health Programme’s launching ceremony, Nawaz said that his government’s prudent policies over the last three and half years broke the terrorists’ back, curtailed electricity load shedding to a large extent and put Pakistan on the road to development.
The PM said that Pakistan’s economic performance was being recognized by the world. “If you cannot assist us in this development, at least stop creating hurdles,” he remarked with reference to his political opponents.
However, he added, “People have become much aware about national affairs. These politicians cannot deceive them.”
Nawaz said that when he took over in 2013, the country was facing various challenges, such as severe electricity shortage and the menace of terrorism. “In 2013, there were street protests due to 16 to 18 hours electricity load shedding. My government solved this problem to a large extent over the last three years and was working hard to completely eliminate it by 2018.”
