ISLAMABAD: The trail against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family in Al-Azizia reference resumed on Tuesday by the Accountability Court (AC).
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lifetime supremo Nawaz was present during the hearing today. However, his lawyer Khawaja Haris was absent on the account of his illness.
During the hearing, Judge Arshad Malik stated that a similar situation happened on Monday but the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said that he had no objection to defence counsel’s illness.
Moreover, Judge Arshad Malik was displeased over the absence of Nawaz’s Lawyer and said that he had postponed all other cases for Al-Azizia reference, adding that his whole day goes to waste when the lawyers fail to appear.
However, the hearing has been adjourned till October 3. The court has also summoned the witness Mehboob Alam tomorrow.
Last year, the cases against Sharif family started on September 14 due to corruption charges.
