LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear on Thursday the petition against the Avenfield verdict.
Previously advocate A.K Dogar had filed a petition against the Avenfield verdict. According to the petition, National Accountability Baru’s (NAB) law, which bases the Avenfield verdict, is outlawed now. Thus, no one cannot be sentenced on the base of that law.
LHC is expected to hear the petition today and Justice Akbar Ali will preside over the session.
On July 6, in the light of Avenfield verdict the former premier Nawaz Shreef, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son in law Capt (r) Safdar sentenced 10, 7 and 1-year imprisonment.
