ISLAMABAD: The case of fake medicines was on Tuesday heard by a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan. CJ Saqib Nisar ordered the Drug Regulatory Authority officer to seal the company and arrest the owner Usman.
Usman was arrested by the officials and asked by the court to present a report in his defence. CJ also demanded proper investigation of the case.
After the hearing, owner of the company Usman denied all the claims and allegations against him, stating that he only provided cheap medicines. He insisted that there were no substandard or unregistered medicines made in his company.
The court issued suspension orders of RPO Bahawalpur and demanded an inquiry about who was behind this inhumane business. CJ also ordered the Punjab Inspector General to start an inquiry against his DIG and submit a report.
