KARACHI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that no one has to prove that they are Muslim, as it is the issue between and individual and Almighty Allah. During his address at the Karachi University on Thursday, he said, “There is no need to raise slogans [to show] that we are Muslims.
Prove it with actions.” He said that fundamentalism existed even in the West and India, as it had various forms. The ISPR DG stated there were many forms of fundamentalism and he called Western countries and India “fundamentalist states”. “When I force others to follow my ideologies then I will be called a terrorist and extremist.” He went on to say that the world would consider us an Islamic country if we follow the principles of the religion. The ISPR chief also stated that Pakistan was the most beautiful country created by Almighty Allah and it was important on the basis of geography. Afghans came to Pakistan when the United States invaded their country following 9/11, he said, adding that Operation Zarb-e-Azb had been completed successfully and terrorists were killed step-by-step. “There are no safe haven of terrorists in Pakistan but there are terrorists in the country,” he said, adding that security forces were being targeted for making the country weak.
