ISLAMABAD: Relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are above all sorts of interests and reconciliations, said Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Tahir Ashrafi on Saturday.
He was addressing a seminar at Jamia Masjid Ma’az bin Jabal, to mark “Bilateral relations of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and 87th National Day of Saudi Arabia”.
He added Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are knotted in a relationship of faith, belief and religious sanctity and no one could destabilise this mutual trust.
Ashrafi felicitated Khadim-e-Harman Al Sharifain Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Ameer Muhammad bin Salman and people of Saudi Arabia on the national day celebrations. In his felicitation message for the Saudi leadership, Ashrafi said, “Stability of Muslims is associated with the unity of the Muslim world and services of Saudi Arabia for unity and stability of the Muslim world is an open secret. Leadership of Saudi Arabia has always remained at the forefront for the cause of Muslim interests from Palestine to Myanmar and in serving Muslims specifically on Hajj, said Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi.”
He said further Saudi leadership initiated a positive stance to form an “Islamic military alliance” for ‘annihilation’ of terrorism, extremism and stability of the Muslim world.
The PUC chief while lauding the decision of the Saudi leadership to become part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) said that Pakistan’s stability is akin to Saudi stability and a strengthened Saudi Arabia will automatically benefit Pakistan. He also underlined that the people of Pakistan will remain on the frontline for the defence and security of Saudi Arabia and if anyone dared to harm Saudi Arabia’s security, defence and stability, every Pakistani would feel honoured to lay his life for the sanctity and defence of Harmain Al Sharifain, said Ashrafi. He resolved that Pakistan will retaliate against aiming to harm Saudi Arabia.
Abdul Hameed, Matiullah Saeedi, Tahir Awan, Nauman Hashir, Shafi Qasmi, Mumtaz Rabbani and Ashfaq Patafi also addressed the seminar.
