LAHORE: At a Supreme Court (SC) hearing on Wednesday, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that the decision to disqualify former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in July 28 verdict was unanimous.
During the court hearing for the review petitions filed by Sharif family to challenge the Panama Papers case verdict, Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Khawaja Haris argued that the judges who gave their verdict on April 20 could not become part of the larger bench that disqualified Sharif.
Responding to the Haris’ concerns, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that that the bench had only disagreed over the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in its April 20 verdict and the three judges who ruled in its favour did not disagree with the verdict of the two dissenting judges.
He further added that the judges who gave their verdict earlier did not make any additions when signing the final judgement of the case.
