GUJRANWALA: Seven people, including three children, were injured after a roof collapsed on Nowshera Road.
Akram and his family were sleeping in the house when the roof of a room collapsed. Resultantly Akram, his wife, brothers and three children received injuries and were rushed to DHQ hospital by rescue 1122 team.
Tenant injured: Owner injured the tenant over rent at Pondanwala Chowk Gujranwala. It was told that there were three months dues of shop rent against tenant Ali Abbas which caused a dispute between he and owner of the shop. On Monday they have a quarrel over the issue and then in a fit of rage owner of the shop attacked and injured him with a sharp edge knife.
Road accident: Seven people were injured in a road accident here at Nokhar Gujranwala. It was told that a motorcycle rickshaw turned turtle due to overspeeding. Resultantly Farzana, Khalida, Shabana, Ahmed, Ali, Abdur Rehman and driver were injured and were rushed to DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122 team.
Illegal housing societies: On the orders of Supreme Court, the Anti-corruption Department completed its survey about the illegal housing societies in the region and sent its report to the Supreme Court. It was told that in view of the increasing fraud complaints about housing societies the court issued the orders to anti corruption that a comprehensive report about the matter be maintain and send to the court. It was revealed in the report that about 150 illegal housing societies were working in the region without any NOC including GEPCO Town, Climax town, Aurganzeb Town, Ashraf Model, Township, Green Town, Islam City, Canal City, Gulshan Rehman, Faisal Town, Gulshan Ayaz, Ittefaq City, Haram City, Shalimar Town and Madina City.
Sources said that strict action would be taken against the administration of illegal housing societies and cases will be got registered against the owners also.
‘Criminals’ arrested: Police have claimed to arrest dozens of criminals in result of a general hold up and search operation here on Monday.
According to a press release police teams set up various check posts at different points and also held a search operation in different areas, while during checking arrested nine suspicious, 13 proclaimed offenders and recovered 13 pistols, 1.5 kg heroin, 15 liter liquid from them. CPO Ashfaq Khan said that crackdown against criminals would be carried on for provision of protection to the citizens.
He also announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates to the officials having best performance during search operations and general hold ups.
