LARKANA: Waleed Police Station (PS) SHO, Athar Ali Channa, along with a police team, launched a three-hour-long search operation in Katchi Basti, conducting house-to-house searches; arresting 40 suspects, including five IPL bookies.
In the year 2016, complainant Ghulam Akbar Jat registered a case against five suspects, involved in the murder of Ghulam Ali Luhar who was brutally killed in the heart of city with a pistol fires. After committing the offence, accused went underground. Since few days, same accused reappeared and threatened the complainant to withdraw the case.
Waleed PS SHO, along with a heavy police contingent, conducted a raid at the hideout of the accused and arrested one nominated accused involved in the murder case, Ghulam Abbas Luhar. Police also claimed to have recovered a weapon from his possession.
Meanwhile, police have also arrested five bookies, during a raid in Larkana on Tuesday. Five bookies were captured red-handed, who have been active with the start of IPL (Indian Premier League). Police recovered cash, laptops, mobile phones and other stuff from their possession. During interrogation, they disclosed that they had links with bookmakers.
