KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is due to attend a startup conference at the Expo Centre on Tuesday
The event, organised by Momentum Pakistan, aims to give young entrepreneurs a platform from which to showcase their products. Imran Khan, who tweeted his intention to visit the event, will meet the budding startup founders and witness their achievements firsthand. He is also slated to address the participants during his appearance.
“Connecting startups w/potential investors is key to nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship and its massive potential in Pakistan,” the PTI chief said on Twitter.
“I am looking forward to engaging with young entrepreneurs at the forum set up by Momentum Pakistan in Karachi this Tuesday,” he further added.
PTI were a strong contender in the 2013 general elections against the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) as the party secured a large number of votes, eventually winning the xNA-250 seat.
However, in recent times, there has been criticism labelled at Khan that he and his party have ignored the city and failed in highlighting as well as helping resolve its problems.
