KARACHI: A factory worker, disguntled over non-payment of salary, has held colleagues hostage inside factory at gun point in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area.
In his video message, the gunman, Saleem Shehzad, said he had a bag full of explosives and he could detonate them if his demands are not met.
The worker claimed he has not been paid for last two months.
He demanded to speak to Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar.
According to Malir SSP Munir Ahmed Shaikh the gunman has taken around eight to nine employees of the factory’s finance department hostage. He said police is trying to convince the worker to surrender.
According to reports, the worker was recently expelled from his job by the factory administration.
