KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy on Sunday rescued 12 Indian fisherman stranded in the sea for eight days.
According to the navy spokesperson, the Indian boat ‘ST Mars’ was stranded in the sea for 8 days with 12 fisherman due to faults in the boat’s engine.
The fisherman were rescued by the PNS Alamgir, while they were also provided edibles and medical treatments. The PNS technical team also repaired the boat’s engine.
To this end, the Indian fisherman thanked the Pakistan Navy, while they also chanted “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans.
The navy spokesperson said that the country’s naval forces are determined to ensure welfare of humanity and that such a gesture only solidifies Pakistan’s stance for maintenance of peace in the region.
