LAHORE: The Gender Guardian, a school for education and vocational training of the country’s transgender community is set to commence from April 15.
Apart from providing 12 years of education to the transgender community, the Gender Guardian school will also offer courses in fashion designing, graphics designing, computer and mobile repairing among various others.
School founder Asif Shahzad said that it has been established by Exploring Future Foundation and that the NGO aims to spread its branches to Islamabad and Karachi after Lahore.
According to the management, 15 faculty members have already been hired, 3 of whom are from the transgender community, while 40 students have also been enrolled.
The launching ceremony of the school will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium’s Alhamra Hall and will be gaced by prominent personalities from the Showbiz industry.
