LAHORE: Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Qazi Mohammad Amin Ahmad has praised the army for its role in handling the situation prevailed after the law and enforcement agencies launched a crackdown at Faizabad protest on Saturday morning.
“Everyone knows that army has saved the country from a huge disaster,” Justice Amin said.
This statement came a day after Justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqui criticized the army’s role as the mediator between the sit-in leadership and the government.
The lives of numerous people would have been lost if army would not come to settle the situation, he went on to say.
Justice Amin further said that the picture of martyred Ishaq’s daughter with her father’s coffin was a proof of army’s sacrifices for the country and its people.
He passed these statements while hearing the petition for the recovery of Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Nasir Abbas Shirazi, who was allegedly picked up by four armed men in an Elite Force vehicle.
