SIALKOT: An elderly woman was martyred during unprovoked firing by the Indian forces on the Working Boundary. Indian Security Forces once again violated the ceasefire agreement and resorted to unprovoked firing on the Working Boundary.
As a result, an elderly woman namely Rashida Bibi, 54, was martyred. Police said that the victim had mistakenly crossed the border and Indian security forces opened fire on her. Indian officials handed over her body to Pakistan authorities, which was later handed over to her family members. According to the information received, the woman was mentally unstable. She was laid to rest in her native graveyard amid sobs and tears in a village of Bajwat Sector, Sialkot. A large number of the people from all walks of life attended her funeral. Earlier, a large number of the local people, including the heirs of the deceased woman, staged a protest against the Indian border forces for the brutal killing. The protesting people also chanted anti-India slogans and urged the Pakistan government to take up this matter at all international forums.
