ISLAMABAD: The punjab government has sought particulars of heart and hepatitis patients from all the hospitals of Punjab province including Rawalpindi for allocation of funds for next fiscal year 2017-18 to provide them medicines at their door step.
According to sources, government took the move after the rising complaints and long queues of cardiac and hepatitis patients were witnessed for purchasing the medicines at the government hospitals of Punjab.
The health experts gave a proposal that medicines should be dispatched to patients’ houses after every week, fortnight or month.
The priority in first phase would be given to patients who require medicine on permanent basis, while second priority would be given to patients requiring medicines on routine basis.
The Punjab government has started contacting the pharmaceutical companies and courier services so that medicines could easily be dispatched to the respective patients.
