ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday discussed the achievements of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the director general of Inter-Services Intelligence, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the country’s top civil and military leadership discussed that it was in the best interests of the nation that Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad purge the country of terrorism. The participants came to the agreement that Pakistan’s commitment against extremism and terrorism would guarantee success of the operation.
It was decided that the state will clear out all hurdles in the process of peace.
“The operation is a reflection of the public’s wishes,” the prime minister said. “It is aimed at eradicating terrorism.”
The PM stressed that the operation will continue without any discrimination against colour, ethnicity and race.
Pakistan launched a nationwide military operation Radd-ul-Fasaad this year which would include broad-spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations in Punjab, and continuation of ongoing operations across the country.
The move came after deadly bombings across the country all through February killed hundreds of civilians.
