KARACHI: Sindh Rangers said that notorious Lyari gangster Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla was killed in an intelligence-based operation carried out by paramilitary forces early Thursday morning.
According to a Sindh Rangers spokesperson, paramilitary forces carried out an operation at Lyari’s Phoolpatti lane. The personnel were fired upon by suspects from the rooftops of houses. The Rangers retaliated, due to which three suspects were killed while three managed to flee. The spokesperson said that two of them were accomplices of Baba Ladla.
Sources privy to the development informed media that along the two accomplices were Sikandar alias Sikko and Ladla’s uncle, Yaseen Baloch. Moreover, 15 Rangers’ mobiles were used in the operation.
The deceased gangsters were shifted to Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities. A heavy contingent of police and Rangers is deployed around the hospital.
Ladla was wanted by the Sindh government for more than 100 murders, attempts to murder and extortion cases. His name was registered in the Sindh Police’s ‘Red Book’ with Rs 1,000,000 bounty for his capture. Ladla was a feared gangster and was known for playing football with the heads of his opponents.
A huge cache of weapons, including grenades and automatic weaponry, were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
