ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court will continue the hearing of the Panama Leaks case today on the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other parties.
A larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali will resume the hearing. The bench will be hoping that Sharif family and their legal team are able to give a proper justification to the questions raised by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Tuesday’s hearing.
This will be the ninth hearing of the Panama Leaks case and it is pertinent to mention that the Sharif family has submitted a petition in the Supreme Court requesting for a daily hearing as the issue is very critical and the work of their institutions is getting affected,” the petition stated.
In its eighth hearing on Tuesday, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa had asked three questions from the prime minister’s lawyer Salman Aslam Butt.
a) How did the prime minister’s children form the companies?
b) Explain the issue of dependency ?
c) Were the prime minister’s speeches true or not?
The bench expects Sharif family to submit the response on the questions today.
