An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad, on Tuesday, adjourned the hearing of a case with reference to contamination Rawal Lake with poison to catch fish without any proceedings due to the lawyers’ strike. As per details, Secretariat Police had registered three FIRs against the accused Jahangir Ahmed Abbasi over alleged involvement in catching fish after poisoning the water of Rawal Lake, the main source of water supply to the twin cities. An FIR was registered on the behalf of the fishing contractor of Rawal Lake whereas two other FIRs were registered on the behalf of Fisheries Department under terrorism clauses last year. Previously, the ATC had cancelled the bail of the accused, after which he had secure bail from Islamabad High Court. The hearing was adjourned till July 23.
