ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat on Monday said that the enemies of Pakistan are trying to systematically spread fake information regarding Pakistan.
“Enemies of the country are deliberately trying to portray Pakistan in negative light and fake news is being systematically spread. If a person from other nationality commits a crime, it rarely gets mentioned, but if someone commits a crime in Pakistan, it is made a headline,” Gen Zubair said while speaking to Pakistan Summit in Islamabad.
He continued that information, diplomacy, army and economy have become foundations of any nation, and that in a world where information is becoming significant, it is also being heavily misused.
The CJSCS said: “Pakistan’s future is stable and secure, despite the evil agendas of enemies. CPEC will play a significant role, while by 2020, Pakistan will become the 18th largest economy.”
Gen Zubair said that Pakistan’s identity are people like Abdul Sattar Edhi, Dr Ruth Pfau, Malala Yousufzai and Arfa Karim and that the country should tell the world that there is a long list of similar people that have played a positive role globally.
He also took jabs at India saying that the “neighbouring country is doing all it can to destabilise Pakistan,” but the country has sacrificed a lot in its war against terrorism and that no other country can match Pakistan’s triumphs, he added.
