LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that all national institutions including the SC and the NAB have an eagle eye on Punjab.
“National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have a close eye on Punjab, and so does the Supreme Court. I challenge all institutions to prove any sort of corruption against me, and if they can come up with something, they can grab me by the neck,” Shehbaz Sharif said while speaking to a ceremony in Lahore.
He added that NAB must hold everyone accountable on merit and avoid double standards. “At one place, NAB is scrutinising every single detail, while on the other, the bureau is completely ignoring it,” CM Punjab added.
Shehbaz also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for placing hurdles in way of the Orange Line Metro Train for over 22-months. He stressed that he had convinced the Chinese officials to initiate bidding process even tho they were against it.
“I had to make sure that the people of Lahore are aware of all the details and facts regarding the project,” he added.
