ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbassi on Wednesday will be meeting Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah at PM House.
Talking to media, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq informed that the one-on-one meeting between PM and Opposition Leader will deliberate on the matter of interim government. Sadiq expressed hope that both the leaders would mutually decide on the interim PM during the meeting.
Ayaz said that government and opposition parties together will have to think in the interest of the people irrespective of their personal and political affiliations. He added that politics of blaming and shaming others by levelling allegations would only spread mayhem and perpetrate lawlessness.
In the wake of the upcoming general elections to be carried out as free and fair, the opposition political parties had demanded that the polls be conducted under an interim government. Thus, with the government’s tenure almost ending, discussions and meetings are being held to decide on the election of caretaker PM.
