ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that there is ‘no bigger fool’ than Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi if he believes former PM Nawaz Sharif is not involved in money laundering.
“If Shahid Khaqan Abbasi believes that Nawaz Sharif is not involved in money laundering, then there is no bigger fool than him,” Imran said in a talk at Bani Gala.
The PTI chief further questioned: “Does Pakistan not suffer from an annual money laundering of 10 billion dollars? Why is the PM turning a blind eye to the corruption of Nawaz Sharif?”
Criticising the premier over his remarks on Senate Chairman, Imran said that PM Abbasi is vocal over ‘horsetrading’ in Senate elections, but Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) did not consider PTI’s recommendations of amending the Senate election procedure.
On Sunday, the premier lashed out at Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, terming his appointment in the Upper House as an ‘insult’. “Senate Chairman was elected via horse trading. Such an appointment is an insult and the Chairman has no reputation in public,” Abbasi said.
The PM also demanded that Sadiq Sanjrani be removed from his post and a unanimous Senate chairman be elected in his place.
