ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb castigated Imran Khan for his tirade and ‘false allegations’ against Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, at his public rally in Mianwali.
Aurangzeb asked how could someone who had failed to control dengue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) criticize Shehbaz. In a statement issued, the minister stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could have been like Punjab if instead of concocting lies, Imran had trained under Shehbaz. She said the lust for power had made Imran mentally sick. Marriyum said Imran Khan was a congenital liar. She said his polemic at the public rally in Mianwali was a pack of lies, as usual. She said Shehbaz Sharif had served the people with dedication and commitment and Punjab under Shehbaz was personification of development. The state minister said instead of indulging in hurling unsubstantiated and malicious allegations against Shehbaz Sharif, it was about time Imran Khan announced to make the provincial accountability commission functional. She said Imran could not bring change and serve the masses by telling them lies in public rallies, adding that it required working with unmitigated zeal and commitment like Shehbaz Sharif. “Shehbaz’s work speaks for itself”, she said. Speaking about problems in the educational institutes of KPK, the minister reminded Imran Khan that 35% of the schools in KPK were without drinking water, 30% did not have the facility of toilets and 40% were without electricity. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday had said it was time Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif stopped fooling the nation.
