LARKANA: Another person injured in the Jhal Magsi blast passed away on Friday, bringing the death toll to 23.
Nadir Ali, 18, died in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
He was operated upon, but could not survive. A total of 13 injured devotees were brought to the Accident and Emergency Centre of the CMCH.
Jhal Magsi Deputy Commissioner Asadullah Kakar confirmed that 22 people had died in the blast.
An emergency was declared in the hospital after the blast. Doctors of orthopedics and neurosurgery departments were called to treat the injured. Police and Rangers cordoned off the hospital and nobody was allowed to go inside the casualty department. Sindh Assembly Member Mir Nadir Magsi, accompanied by Larkana Commissioner Abbas Baloch, and other officials visited the hospital on Friday and inquired about the health of the injured.
Meanwhile, a protest demonstration was staged against the attack. The protesters demanded the arrest of terrorists involved in killing innocent people. Around 50 people were martyred in the blast at the same shrine in 2005.
