ISLAMABAD: Another two hardcore terrorists belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) were executed on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), convicts Atta Ullah and Taj Muhammad, tried by the military courts, were found involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including attack on Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar, killing of innocent civilians, attacks on armed forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
Separately, an alleged terrorist was killed while two security forces personnel sustained injures in an exchange of firing in Kalat.
On a tip-off, the security forces raided a hideout in Kalat where the suspected terrorists opened fire at the raiding party, leaving two security forces personnel injured. The security forces retaliated and gunned down one of the suspects
In Gujranwala, the counter-terrorism department (CTD) conducted an operation near general bus stand and apprehended a suspected terrorist allegedly belonging to the Islamic State.
The CTD spokesperson informed media that explosive material, detonators and other ammunition was also seized from the arrested suspect. He further said that the suspect was planning to target sensitive installations in Gujranwala.
In Karachi, a major terrorism bid was foiled as Ranger apprehended two suspected terrorists of a banned organisation.
According to sources, Rangers carried out a search operation in Scout Colony area of Scheme 33 at midnight and arrested six suspected terrorists who were later shifted to an undisclosed place for further interrogation.
