ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has urged Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) to ensure smooth supply of poultry meat during the holy month of Ramazan.
This he stated while talking to a delegation of the association who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.
Dar said that the government will keep a close watch on poultry prices and the association must also extend its support for the benefit of the general public.
He said that the poultry sector has a significant contribution in the economy in terms of revenue generation and government will facilitate this sector to the extent possible.
Meanwhile, during a meeting with the Kisan Ittehad delegation, he said that agriculture is the backbone of the national economy and a large chunk of the population is associated with it.
He said that the government has already given a number of incentives to the agriculture sector.
Dar said that the government will give consideration to the proposals submitted by the delegation and give whatever relaxation is conveniently possible for the farmers.
A delegation of Pakistan Broadcasters Association also called on Dar in Islamabad and discussed budget proposals regarding taxation on electronic media.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the proposals will be accorded due consideration in the upcoming budget.
The delegation also called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.
Talking to the delegation, Nisar said that media must play its role and utilise its immense power to further national interests, safeguard our social and religious values.
