LAHORE: The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) on Tuesday condemned the remarks of Iranian army chief about Pakistan.
Commenting on the statement of Iranian Chief of Army Staff General Muhammad Hussain Baqri, PUC chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, said that Iranian threats towards Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were regrettable. “Islamic World will not allow Iranian leadership to play havoc with peace and security of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Ashrafi said that people of the Pakistani security forces knew how to defend Pakistan and Harmain Al Sharifain in face of any foreign aggression. “Pakistan has been demonstrating patience for regional peace, but amidst this scenario, threatening conduct on part of Iranian leadership for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is condemnable,” he said. “The alliance among Iran, Afghanistan and India cannot destabilise Pakistan,” said Ashrafi.
