KARACHI: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that he was waiting for the judgement of Panamagate to contest by-election.
This he said while talking to media just after inaugurating the 1.7km long Sir Aga Khan Bridge, the longest bridge on River Indus at Jhirk- Mulakatiar. The PPP chief said that the National Action Plan must be implemented in letter and spirit. He added that it was necessary for restoring peace in the country. Bhutto said that extremism was a big challenge for our nation and “we all have to fight against it,” he said. Replying to a question about Irafanullah Marwari, the chairman said: “It was just a meeting between Asif Zardari and Marat and no decision was taken.” He said there was misunderstanding that Marwat had joined the party, no decision was taken about him.
He said PPP was the first government which had taken up the issue of providing clean drinking water to people of Sindh. He added that the Sindh government was taking necessary measures for the purpose.
In the start of his speech, Bhutto congratulated Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for launching the longest bridge on River Indus. “I am quite happy that the Sindh government has launched another bridge on the River Indus,” he said. It may be noted that the Sindh government had recently launched Thatta- Sujawal Bridge on River Indus and today Sir Aga Khan Bridge to connect Thatta and Tando Mohammad Khan has been opened.
