Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s cousin who was a candidate for PK-77 on Thursday withdrew her nomination papers in favour of the Awami National Party (ANP).
Noor Jehan while announcing her decision said she had some reservations with the ANP which now have been addressed by the leadership.
“My ancestor were affiliated with the ANP. I didn’t want to dent ANP’s standing in the constituency,” said Jehan.
SRK’s cousin submitted her nomination papers to contest elections as an independent candidate after being denied ticket by the ANP to which she remained associated since her birth.
Noor Jehan belongs to Mohallah Shah Wali Qataal, at the back of Qissa Khwani Bazaar. Being King Khan’s cousin, she had visited the Bollywood superstar twice.
Moreover, Khan had visited Peshawar along with his parents twice during his childhood.
