Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday that those who had benefited from dictatorship were preaching democracy.
While addressing the media in Islamabad, the PTI leader said that Maryam Nawaz’s father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was talking about all the conspiracies in the world, but conveniently excluded the one that involved accumulation of Rs3 billion.
“Nawaz’s younger son, Hassan Nawaz, had claimed in an interview that he was just a student but could buy a house worth millions of pounds.”
The PTI leader further alleged that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was “merely a puppet PM, while Fawad Hassan Fawad is the one calling all the shots”. He also alleged that a group of five, including federal minister Saad Rafique and Punjab government official Ahad Cheema, were Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s front men.
Fawad Chaudhry also lashed out at Railways Minister Saad Rafique, stating that the whole country knew that the Paragon Housing Society belonged to him. Earlier, the PTI spokesperson had claimed that the PML-N was destined for the same fate as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P).
Chaudhry claimed that the ruling party would soon divide into several factions, like the MQM.
“PML-N president Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his party are moving towards the same fate as the MQM and its founder,” he said. “Nawaz believes that all cases against him should be dismissed since his party won the Lodhran by-election, but winning the by-election does not mean he is given a free pass.”
