GUJRANWALA: Drug trafficking in Civil Lines area is increasing day-by-day, local police have no control on it and large number of young boys and girls are being addicted by the criminals. In a survey it was revealed that mostly young boys are involved in drug selling while their bosses controlled them through cell phones.
These drug sellers have made contracts with various Riksha drivers who provide pick and drop facility to the drug pushers. It was told that many students ofuniversities ,boys and girl colleges are also the customers of drug mafia and they could got drug through rikshaw drivers only on one phone call.
Jinnah road, gill road, railway line areas are the main sales points of these drug sellers while on other hand police have taken no action against them.It is notable that this trend of drug production is just a few yards away from the residents of police officers.
Despite many requests from the citizens the concerned authorities have yet unable to take action against the said drug mafia. The citizens demanded the RPO Gujranwala to take an early action against the said criminals in civil lines area.
Train accident: A speeding train crushed to death a youth here at SheranwalaBagh railway gate Gujranwala. It was reported the Muhammad Yousaf S/O Abdul Majeed was crossing the railway line when suddenly a train from Lahore to Rawalpindi crushed him to death. Rescue 1122 team shifted the dead body at DHQ hospital.
Arrests: Patrolling police have arrested six proclaimed offenders and recovered illegal arm from them. it was told that proclaimed offenders AnayatUllah, KhaqanHaider, Amjad Hussain, Mumtaz, Muhammad Saleem,, Muhammad Sharif and Farooq were wanted to police in different cases. Police have also recovered two pistols and bullets from them.
