LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore announced its Intermediate Annual Examination, 2017, on Tuesday with the passing percentage of 62.48.
A medal awarding ceremony for top position holders was also organised by the BISE Lahore at Alhamra Hall, which was attended by Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani, BISE Lahore Chairman Prof Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Controller Prof Muhammad Nasir Jamil, Secretary Rehana Ilyas, teachers and parents of position holders. The position holders were given cash awards of Rs 20,000 for first, Rs 15,000 for second and Rs 10,000 for third positions, whereas gold, silver and bronze medals were also awarded.
According to the results, a total of 155,122 students appeared in the examination, of which 96,927 remained successful.
Speaking on the occasion, BISE Lahore Chairman Muhammad Ismail said the Lahore board had been announcing transparent and on-time results for the past five years as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In his address, Syed Raza Ali Gillani urged students to play their role in development of the country. He said that nations investing in the youth would never remain underdeveloped. He added that the government was providing all-out resources to equip talented youth with education. He said that according to the vision of the CM, the Punjab government was taking revolutionary measures for the promotion of education in the province.
