PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Saturday lauded the role of the Christian community for working hand in hand with their other fellow countrymen for the development and progress of the country.
In a message one day before Christmas, the governor said, “On this happy occasion of Christmas, I feel deep pleasure to congratulate the Christian citizens of our beloved country and share their joyful festivities.”
Jhagra said that the constitution of Pakistan provided an environment of fraternity and brotherhood through protection and respect for all citizens irrespective of their religions and castes. He added that it was because of this very fact that a stable ground was available for every citizen to contribute for their individual and collective wellbeing.
The governor said that this happy occasion offered an opportunity for our Christian countrymen to refresh their pledge for their struggle to develop Pakistan in future. “I wish that our Christian countrymen witness many more happy occasions in future,” he said.
