QUETTA: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Tuesday said that the judiciary does not have the right to interfere in legislature but the appointed lawmakers do not have time to do their jobs.
“We do not have the right to make or amend laws, but those who have the right to do so, do not have time to update or amend laws,” CJP said while speaking to the lawyers in Quetta.
Justice Nisar added that the provision of fundamental rights is the judiciary’s responsibility and that those who do not strive for a change, never succeed in bringing one.
He continued that the judicial system has weaknesses, and to that end, he urged the attendees to support him for strengthening the system. Justice Nisar also urged the lawyers to fully cooperate with the judges for resolution of pending cases.
