KARACHI: According to police sources, an infuriated mob burnt alive a robber as he was attempting to loot a milk shop in Karachi’s Landhi neighbourhood on Sunday. An FIR has not been registered regarding the case as yet.
The robbers fired a shot in the air after the person they were trying to loot refused to hand over money and mobile phone.
The people on hearing the sound of gunfire gathered outside the shop and made an attempt to foil the robbery.
Although one of the robbers managed to escape, the other was held by the crowd who sprinkled petrol on him and burnt him alive.
Senior Superintendent Police Korangi confirmed that “one dacoit tried to enter a milk shop in the area in a robbery attempt that was foiled. He added, “The culprit was beaten up and burnt.”
The burnt body of the robber was transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
JPMC Executive Director Dr Seemin Jamali confirmed, “A burnt body has come in from Landhi but has not been identified.”
No policeman was present there at the time of the incident.
