ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that rulers are “corruption experts”.
He made the statement while speaking in a private television channel on Saturday. The PTI chief said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is saving everyone in his ranks to protect himself, adding that the people are paying the price of corruption which is continuing unabated in the country.
Khan said, “The rulers are making money through all major development projects. They are corruption experts.”
He claimed that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamaruz Zaman Chaudhry would not take any action against corruption, alleging that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was preparing documents to protect the prime minister.
The rulers are trapped now, Khan said, adding that PM Sharif was thinking that nothing could happen against him and he has control over everything.
“Never has a chief executive of the country been inquired like this before,” The PTI chief asserted. “Never has any government made so much money in such a short period of time like Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government has. I am certain that the serving NAB chief will never investigate corruption in the country.”
Khan said that the federal government had to return loans worth billions of rupees. The PTI chief stated that he would file a reference against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Khan claimed that CM Sharif had set up five sugar mills on the name of power plants in the lands where cotton was produced.
