KARACHI: A large number of lady health visitors staged a protest on Monday near CM House, demanding immediate release of funds for payment of their salaries.
They threatened the Sindh government of going on an indefinite strike if their demands are not met. Lady health visitors from different districts of Karachi gathered near PIDC signal and raised slogans against the government over non-payment of salaries.
“It has been two-three months since the workers received their salaries. Despite repeated requests, our cries have gone unheard. Hence, we staged a protest here and will not work till our demands are met,” protestors warned.
Later, after a successful dialogue with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the protest was called off.
