KARACHI:The Met Office has forecasted a spell of rain and snow for this week.
According to a statement by the Met Office, the new wave of rain and snowfall that will hit the country this week will be more intense than the previous waves. The statement added that snow had mostly dominated winters in the country for the last two years, but this time rain would dominate the season.
A new wave of winds and clouds has entered Balochistan, causing light rain and bringing temperatures in Quetta and surrounding areas down.
Moreover, the Met Office also warned that the rainwater could cause flooding in the streams of Balochistan. Moreover, the mountains of Quetta, Zhob and Kalat are also likely to receive snow during the ongoing week.
Heavy snowfall has also started again in the mountains of Murree, Galyat, Hazara, Malakand and Kashmir.
Furthermore, rain is forecasted for Karachi on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Landslides are also feared to occur in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The Met Office has advised people to follow the precautionary measures suggested by the National Disaster Management Authority and National Highway Authority if they wish to travel during rain
