KASUR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not get away from his fate in the Panama Leaks case, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday.
The PTI chief was speaking at a rally in which he called out the governing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders for their disregard of the common people, pointing to the non-provision of heath and other basic necessities to the country’s citizens.
He highlighted the fact that in their almost 30 years in power, the PML-N had not done anything to alleviate the condition and situation of public hospitals.
Khan called the prime minister and other leaders insensitive, saying they were unaware of the actual conditions in public hospitals, adding that the common people were forced to breath their last on hospital floors as there were not enough beds available for them.
He said, “They (rulers) themselves go abroad for medical check-ups and consider it below their dignity to go to a hospital in the country.”
He went on to discuss the Panama papers proceedings, ongoing in the Supreme Court. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not going to escape in the Panama Leaks case,” Khan said, adding that if the Qatari prince’s infamous letter turned out to be bogus then the PM would have to resign himself to going home.
Khan further criticised the PM for requesting that his previous speech in Parliament be given immunity, noting that “A lay man goes to prison for speaking a lie, but they (rulers) want immunity for doing the same.”
