ISLAMABAD: According to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, road networks were essential for the country’s socio-economic development.
Talking to Communications Division Secretary and National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar on Tuesday, he said that roads provide access to far flung areas of the country, creating huge economic potential for trade and commerce.
The NHA chairman briefed the PM regarding the developing road network projects in the country. The PM urged the concerned authorities to immediately constructthe Islamabad Metro Bus link from Peshawar Mor to new Islamabad airport.
Nawaz was informed that the project would comprise of 14 bus stops along the way, costing around 18 billion rupees. The new Metro Bus service would be inaugurated by the PM on 14th August this year along with the inauguration of new Islamabad airport.
The Prime Minister stated that Airport Link Metro Bus route will ease the traffic load towards the New Airport and save precious time for the commuters with ease of travel and comfort.
He said that no compromises on the quality of the Metro Bus Service to the new Islamabad airport should be made.
