HYDERABAD: Human Rights Commission of Pakistan took out a big rally on Saturday to mark the World Human Rights Day.
Rally was attended by human rights activists and members of civil society. People rallied from Sindh University’s old campus and culminated in front of press club.
Many people including political and social workers, lawyers, journalists and teachers took part in the rally. HRCP had dedicated this year’s HR theme to media freedom so as to press the government against undesired censorship and restrictions imposed on press.
Participants chanted slogans against feudalism, contract system, unemployment and increase in patronized crime in the rural areas. The speakers at the rally condemned extra judicial killings under fake police encounters and demanded its end. HRCP’s Sindh coordinator, Dr. Ashothama and professor Mustaq Mirani also participated in the rally.
