ISLAMABAD: The posts of pilot in PIA have been put on sale amid the reports that it has been made binding on every pilot, who has even been selected on merit to pay Rs5 million in connection with his appointment.
The PIA is passing through a process of wear and tear and the claims by the incumbent government for adhering to norms of merit stand reduced to sheer empty slogans.
The candidates, who cleared the test and interview in respect of posts of pilots have received message from responsible officials of PIA that their selection has been made in a fair and transparent manner, but they will have to pay Rs 5 million in return for their appointment. A good number of candidates have kept mum over the matter for not having such enormous amount in their bank accounts.
It is pertinent to mention that neither former minister MushahidUllah Khan has desired this money nor has new chairman of PIA demanded such huge amount.
Every department of PIA has reached on the verge of destruction. The incompetent people have been imposed on PIA, who aretaking bribes to appoint pilots.
FBR has filed application with Public Accounts Committee that PIA has to pay Rs 5 billion on account of sales tax. PAC has summoned responsible persons of PIA on this count.
