ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Standing Committee on Government Assurances was held on Tuesday with Standing Committee on Government Assurances Chairman Muhammad Afzal Khokhar in the chair
The standing committee observed that the bureaucracy of the Water and Power Ministry needs to improve its efficiency. The committee was informed that despite the notice and three reminders; the brief by the ministry could not reach timely.
The committee ordered the ministry to submit its report about the outstanding dues of WAPDA against Sindh government and details of its settlement.
The committee also demanded details of load shedding management in the Sindh. The committee directed Water and Power secretary to attend the next meeting of the in person. The committee directed to call for reports of assurances given different ministers in the House from time to time.
MNAs Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail, Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Chaudhry Muhammad Munir Azhar, Syed Sajid Mehdi, Malik Ibrar Ahmed and Rajab Ali Khan Baloch attended the meeting.
