ISLAMABAD: Not-withstanding the summary forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulator Authority (OGRA), the Finance Ministry has increased the prices of petrol and diesel by only Re 1 per litre for the remaining month of February.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, while announcing the new prices of petroleum products on Wednesday, said that OGRA had recommended fixing the price of petrol at Rs 72.20 per litre from Rs 70.29 per litre, but it was fixed instead at Rs 71.29 per litre. He stated the prices of high speed diesel had also been enhanced from Rs 79.48 per litre to Rs 80.48 per litre. Despite recommendations of a huge increase, the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil were kept unchanged.
